Rolling Pin Christmas

Ever since I can remember, I have loved to bake. My mother is an avid baker and I've always been interested in what she's creating in the kitchen.

This picture to the left was on my sixth birthday! Mom made me a cake with roses out of gum drops by rolling each gum drop out and forming them into petals and pressing them together in a rose formation. I remember everything about this cake. How is tasted, what it looked like, and how it made me feel so special.

My mom wouldn't consider herself an artistic person but she truly is. Her medium is flour, butter, sugar, baking soda, baking powder, and eggs. What she has created by hand with her medium is incredible. The amazing thing about food creations is that they stick with us. They are directly tied to so many of our core memories.

This picture to the left is of me at five years old. I had asked Santa for a rolling pin, bag of sugar, and bag of flour for Christmas and I was so excited when I opened it!

Creating in the kitchen for me has always brought me joy and is my love language. From the box cakes I made at two in the morning for my drunk friends in college, to the birthday treats for family and friends, and lastly, the cookies made every year during the holidays for loved ones, baking has always been with me.

Now, I've decided to share this passion with the world by creating recipes and starting my first blog!

I hope my recipes bring you joy, maybe inspire you to create, and if anything, make your belly full and your heart warm.

Thanks for stopping by!
