Unicorn Bars Recipe!
Ingredients
2 (16 Tbsp) sticks of unsalted butter melted
1 cup granulated sugar
½ cup packed brown sugar
2 tsp of vanilla
2 eggs
2 1/2 cups All purpose flour
1 tsp baking soda
1 tsp salt
1 ¼ cup M&M’s candies
1 cup crushed oreos
3/4 cup mini semi sweet chocolate chips
¼ cup sprinkles
How To Make Unicorn Bars
Preheat Your Oven
Start by preheating your oven to 350°F (175°C). This ensures your cookie bars bake evenly.
Melt the Butter
Melt the butter either on the stovetop or in the microwave. Once melted, set it aside to cool for about 5 minutes. This helps it integrate better with the sugars.
Mix the Sugars and Butter
In the bowl of a stand mixer fitted with the paddle attachment, add 1 cup granulated sugar, ½ cup packed brown sugar, and the cooled melted butter.Mix on medium-low speed until the mixture is fully combined and smooth. Don’t forget to scrape down the sides and bottom of the bowl to ensure even mixing.
Add Eggs and Vanilla
Add 2 tsp of vanilla extract and 2 large eggs to the sugar mixture.Continue to mix on medium-low speed for about 2 minutes, or until the mixture is light and fluffy.
Combine the Dry Ingredients
In a separate bowl, combine:
2½ cups all-purpose flour
1 tsp baking soda
1 tsp salt
Mix together with a wooden spoon or whisk until evenly blended.
Form the Dough
Gradually add the dry ingredients into the wet mixture, one cup at a time, mixing until a dough forms. Again, scrape the sides and bottom of the bowl to make sure everything is incorporated.
Step 7: Fold in the Fun
Using a spatula or spoon, fold in:
1 cup M&M’s (reserve ¼ cup for topping)
¾ cup crushed Oreos (reserve ¼ cup for topping)
½ cup mini chocolate chips (reserve ¼ cup for topping)
¼ cup rainbow sprinkles (reserve ¼ cup for topping)
Step 8: Add the Toppings
Transfer the dough into a greased or parchment-lined baking dish (9x13 recommended).Sprinkle the remaining M&M's, Oreos, chocolate chips, and sprinkles evenly over the top for that colorful, crunchy finish.
Step 9: Bake the Bars
Bake in the preheated oven for 25 minutes, or until the edges are golden brown and a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean or with just a few moist crumbs.
Step 10: Cool and Enjoy
Let the bars cool in the pan for a few minutes, then transfer to a wire cooling rack. Once completely cool, slice into squares and serve.

5 Secrets to Perfect Magic Cookie Bars
Melted Butter for a Soft, Flaky Texture: The magic starts with melted butter in the dough. Melting the butter ensures a softer, flakier texture compared to traditional creamed butter. It’s a simple change that makes a big difference!
A Fun Variety of Mix-Ins: These cookie bars are loaded with crowd-pleasing ingredients:
M&M’s for bursts of color and chocolate
Mini chocolate chips for extra sweetness
Sprinkles for a fun, festive look
Oreo pieces for a delightful crunch
The Key to Baking: Don’t Overbake To achieve the perfect chewy texture, avoid overbaking. These bars are best when slightly underbaked. I’ve found that 15 minutes in the oven works perfectly for my batch. Remember, every oven is different, so adjust the time slightly if needed.
Family-Approved Flavor and Texture: I recently made a batch for my family, and they were a hit! The mix-ins were a favorite among everyone, and the chewy texture earned rave reviews.
Test and Perfect in Your Oven: Baking times may vary depending on your oven. Keep a close eye on the bars during the final few minutes of baking to find the sweet spot that works best for you.
